It is disappointing that it isn't finished yet. It would be nice if they wouldn't turn the ac off at night. But for $25.00 per month, how can you go wrong? If you want month to month go to Evolutions in Annapolis.

Hello, I'm a member at South River Fitness and I think that it's great. I have heard about people that now go to my gym who were past members of Gold's Gym in Edgewater. I have some friends now that go to Gold's Gym and are binded into a contract that can't seem to get out of for a ridiculous cancellation fee cost. The Gold's Gym on West Street is owned by the same owner at Gold's in Edgewater. Let's see they have been promising a pool for years now, when Arby's beside it was being build they lied and made believe it was the pool in process. One of the employees told me he purposely went out and rented a bobcat machine and sat it to make members think it was starting to be built. My friend asked if they had tanning beds, they said no, but they were getting them soon, letting her sign up on that promise not kept, as well as them changing rules and regulations. Seems like they will say anything that people are asking or want in a gym, just to get them to sign up. May I add that they don't even own the property that they are on. It's for sale?! Google it....I just hate to see these people get lied to.

I've tried reflexology, which is foot massage and it's great. You can find all sorts of things that need aligning with foot massage. I know it doesn't sound like it is "out there" but really a person who knows what they are doing can really make a difference.

Gold's Gym in Edgewater is only $25/month right now due to not having everything completed, this is half the price of next cheapest and quite cheaper than others. While it isn't complete, there is plenty to get a "hard core" work out and usually with less wait than the other gyms. Does it have it's faults yes, as do every other gym I've been a member to, which includes South River Fitness which is a nice family oriented locale.

Most know the county can be problematic with building issues, but I do wish Golds would INFORM the members regarding the status, versus letting the members fester amongst themselves about possible issues!

I have been to both locations of Maritime Autowash and have to say the service and quality of their work is stupendous. The employees are well dressed, and really seem to love their jobs. The owners have the consumer in mind and offer absolutely the best service. It's unlike any car wash I have ever used. The gift shops are very tastefully done, and browsing through the cards and items is a real pleasure. Obviously someone has a very good sense of humor and the gift shops are awesome.

I agree. However, why a monorail? That's a lot of technology, and a lot of cost. Besides, the key to successful transit systems is eliminating transfers. I wouldn't support a monorail substitute for more orange line if there's no reason not to extend the orange line. That being said, the less money you can spend and get away with it, the happier the NIMBY people and the rail-hating rednecks are.

wow that is some rough commentary! But funny! I went into Rosie Beas and have to confirm its fate is securely sealed...death is immenent. It all depends on how long the owners want to pay rent for. The remodelling they did on the interior is pointless, should have saved money. AND they charge a crap-load for their baked goods, which taste like something from Giant Foods bakery. Makes no sense.

Comment on Clay Street: Where To Go For The 411 by Timm Grins

Whats going on Party People. I just heard about the coverage here at Annapolis Now. Didn't know about it till now so, my apologoies for the delayed response.

In terms of what's going on on Clay Street? Well, I invite you to come and see for yourself at www.ILiveonClayStreet.com for more detail, most recently we started including video and there is some great stuff from our "Clay Street Supper Club". However, since you asked I will tell you what's going on...in a word, change.

To know Clay Street is to know that it is a neighborhood that is not without its challenges. While a certain sense of adventure is required, this is not Baghdad. We have been focused on developing the character of the 'hood. Taking note of resident concerns, we have been formulating committees, associations, and gatherings of the less formal variety to foster community. It will take some time but, we do believe we are the gem of Annapolis. A neighborhood with deep musical ties, real diversity, affordable living rates for downtown housing, and certain geographical envy (I regularly walk downtown for ice cream).

We have recently been successful in advancing Clay Street as part of the Capital City Arts and Cutlture District. We will be meeting with the former Mayor of Frederick on Tuesday night to develop an action plan for implementing a new arts district. Couple that with the expansion of First Sundays to Whitmore Park (the urban park on Calvert Street( and we are moving in the right direction.

So the direction is appropriate, the leadership is in place, the troops are organizing, and the good times are being had day in and day out. Of course, all of that is still with a certain degree of adventure. Lets just say that my spidey sense tingles more on Clay then it does on Conduit Street.

Clay Street though, is beautiful. It is finding its way, getting comfortable with its skin, trying new things, opening to a new healthier outlook.

Challenges be damned. Clay Street baby. Clay is Good.

Peace,
Timm Grins

These designations are aimed primarily at ES kids. Encouraging them to get out and walk is simple and mundane, I know - but the legislation was practically free, and may help reduce some of the Millions MD spends in health care costs each year. Cynical is cute, but in this case, it is unbecoming.
